Meerlust Estate: Long recognized for producing world-class wines, Meerlust Estate has been the pride of the Myburgh family since 1756. Today, the traditional dedication to the art of winemaking continues under the guidance of Hannes Myburgh, eighth generation custodian of this seventeenth-century national monument. – Standard Tasting (6 wines)
Vergelegen: Founded on 1 February 1700, Vergelegen (meaning “situated far away”), has been under the ownership of some of the world’s great explorers and visionaries, each of whom, in their own way, have helped shape Vergelegen to what it is today: a world-class Estate. With its world renowned handcrafted wines, its history spanning over 300 years, heritage, exquisite gardens and refined cuisine, it comes as no surprise that Vergelegen continues to be the choice of the discerning visitor seeking a total sensory experience. – Cellar tour & Standard Tasting (4 wines)
Rust en Vrede: For 321 years Rust en Vrede has stood peacefully among the vineyards of Stellenbosch. Through centuries there were periods when wine was produced, but for the last 32 years Rust en Vrede has specialized in producing only red wine with the focus on Syrah, Cabernet and Merlot. The original cellar, a National Monument built in 1785, has been converted into the Restaurant. However, the Winemakers Lunch is served in the tasting room. – Recommended – Winemakers lunch
Blaauwklippen: Gently nestled on the slopes of the Stellenbosch Mountain, Blaauwklippen is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, dating back to 1682. The name Blaauwklippen comes from the Dutch word meaning “blue rocks”. The first vineyards were planted in the fertile soil of the estate in 1688. In 1899, famed businessman and politician Cecil John Rhodes became the owner of Blaauwklippen, but only for one day! In 1971 the renowned Stellenbosch Wine Route was founded, with Blaauwklippen as one of the first members. – Standard Tasting (5 wines)
